Born
and raised in the renowned Syrian Jewish Community of Brooklyn, and
growing up on it's legendary cuisine, I became keenly aware of the powerful connection
between food and cultural identity. Because I love to eat, I decided I wanted to cook. And because I'm naturally competitive, I decided I wanted to cook better than anybody else.
After spending years as a self-taught gourmand, cooking for a
close circle of family and friends and being told over and over
how incredible everything was, I decided to hire myself out as a
professional chef in the Spring of 2008. I had a very successful
inaugural season and did lots of parties to rave reviews. What started as a little side-line quickly became my sole focus.
After dedicating myself to the culinary arts full-time, my culinary training was further bolstered by stints working at kosher fine dining establishments and catering companies in and around the community. Working closely with not only the chefs, but also the mashgiachs so as to be fully versed in much of the halachot of kashrut.
I'm already well known as "the BBQ guy", but that only scratches the surface of what I can offer my clients!
